I was one of the few consultants in Price Waterhouse & Co. to be selected for a six-month extensive training program in Computer Audit, System Design and Structured COBOL in 1979. This program was designed to train Financial Auditors in Systems Analysis and Systems Design.

THE WORLD BANK,WASHINGTON D.C CONSULTANT/SENIOR SYSTEMS ANALYST

I was involved in the maintenance and enhancement of the budgetary system for the Ministry of France, Saudi Arabia. This system maintains and prints the national budget for the entire Kingdom. The budget printed by us goes to the King for approval. This is a very critical and sensitive system. The strong Financial Management background enabled me to understand the budgetary system in its totality and to ascertain the existence of adequate audit controls, as the system was being enhanced.

CONSULTANT/SYSTEMS ANALYST

I was involved in the design and implementation of the above-mentioned system using TOTAL database on NCR 8575 computer. The system, designed in COBOL, generates screens in Arabic and displays data from right to left.

I supervised a team of professionals for the designing of a Highway Cost System using CICS on IBM 370 computer. This system consisted of 35 on-line programs and used VSAM database. The system is used for estimating the cost per kilometer of highway to be built. It is used by the Ministry of Communication, Saudi Arabia, to evaluate the tenders received from the construction companies around the World for construction of highways the company.

GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., SAN JOSE,CALIFORNIA.CONSULTANT

I managed a team of Professionals for installing a General Ledger Systems for the Nuclear Division of the company. This Financial Accounting package maintains the complete books of accounts for the entire nuclear division and Generates various Management Information reports for executive decision Making. It also consolidates into to the Corporate books of Accounts. The package from software International was installed on an IBM 4341 under OS/VS2 environment using CICS as Transaction Processor and VSAM as database. I was responsible for the interface between financial auditors and systems designers to generate new output screens and reports, suitable for Financial Management Analysis. I was also responsible for explaining the system and training the accounts, who were the ultimate users of the systems.

CONSULTANT

I participated in developing an on-line Inventory Management System using IDS II database on the Honeywell 6600 computer. This system maintained inventory levels of all parts that go into building a nuclear power plant MRP (Material Requirement and planning )was a sub-module of this system. The system also generated purchase orders based on the reorder quantity specified. The system consisted of 200 on -line programs and 300 batch programs and supported a worldwide network of terminals. Training the user was part of my responsibility.

PRICE WATERHOUSE &CO. SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA. AUDITOR/ CONSULTANT

I had total responsibility for designing and implementing an on -line Fixed asset Management System in CIBOL on a Honeywell Computer. This system kept track of location and utilization of various farm equipment located around the Country. The system provided early warning to the management for any utilization above or below 20 of the standard utilization. I prepared the complete documentation for the system and provided training to the users. Since the system was computerized for the first time, training the users was the most important aspect of the implementation.

I performed reviews of client computer centers as per Generally Accepted Auditing Standard. This involved the review of Computer installations as well as specific application (e.g A/R, A/P) reviews. Based upon the reviews, I made recommendations to the Financial Audit Manager to decide the scope of year-end audit. I wrote programs for 'Audit analyzer', a specialized software package for Auditors, to extract data from client database.

I was a member of a team designing a Data Dictionary System for Financial Management Application. I also designed a manual financial accounting system for a small manufacturing company.

I performed year-end and interim audits of multinational construction company, unified school district and manufacturing companies. I prepared the financial statements (e.g balance sheet along with footnotes, profit and loss statement, and fund flow analysis statement) as per Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. I also made recommendations to the client management for increasing the effectiveness of their financial control system.
